First: an apology. This is the longest I’ve gone without publishing a newsletter post since the inception of The Cleaver and the Butterfly. Shameful! Disgusting! My excuses: 1) I am working on a epic politics & history of mapo doufu post that has either gotten completely out of control or is proof that I have been on the right path all along, but only now am beginning to figure out what I’m really writing about. Readers will get the chance to make their own judgment in March.
