I too had to look up the word "diegetic"! As to Demonic Dao, that's actually a good question. The title I found for the book is 佛本是道, which is what Zhange Ni translates as "The Buddha Belongs to the Dao." But I don't know where she gets "The Rise of the Demonic Dao" from. Maybe it's a subtitle inside the book? I haven't been able to access the book itself, as I haven't quite penetrated the mysteries of how to create a Qidian account from the West.
